Default Voice Recognition/U-Connect

My owner's manual seems to indicate that you can have Voice Recognition operation , without being equipped with UConnect feature. I do have the 9.715 release, microphone, and enabled JK VR/HFM menu, but still no voice recognition ability. When I hit the VR hard key, I get a message,(not voice), "not equipped with uconnect"...But I did NOT hit the UConnect hard key..Could someone chime in here and explain all..

Thanks...

Might not be a big help, but I have seen a couple of threads that indicated that the mygig systems already had the uconnect. You just need a microphone to be installed and a certain version of the software to get it working.

Keep searching in the forums you will find the answer. I don't have a mygig, so I can't answer your question 100%.

Odd - I used the .713 firmware and connected a Mopar Mic - enabled in engineer mode and works great - recheck the enable mode - I think it should read disable as a soft key? If it says disable then it is enabled? Can't remember

Is your microphone pushed all the way into the slot? I installed mine over the weekend and this was my problem. After pushing it in everything is working great. I also agree that you should double check to make sure that the vr is enabled.

I am running version 9.715 with the Coastal tech mic installed and it works great. As the other folks suggested, make sure the mic is "clicked" all of the way in and make sure your JK VR/HFM feature displays "disable" in engineering mode.
