WARN Wireless FOG Lights
Just installed some 6.5" WARN 55 watt fog lights on my 08 Jeep and had some strange things going on. Hooked up the lights per manufacturer so the lights would work only while headlights were on low beam. Tried the hookup out and worked fine. When I started the engine and tried it again they would not work. Checked voltage and alternator was putting out 14.4 volts. Un-plugged the altenator and lights worked when voltaged dropped to 12.5 volts. Is 14.4 normal alternator output? The WARN Fog light electronics obivious didn't like the high of voltage.
That's getting a little up there, does it stay at 14.4 or does it come down some after it runs for a minute or so? If it stays that high, have your alternator checked just to make sure it's not putting out too much as it can overcharge your battery.
For example, I have a new battery and at start up it puts out on average14.2-14.3, then settles at 14.1-14.2
