Default waterproof systems

waterproof amps

I want to wire a amp to my speakers and have found some cheap amplifiers not sure why they are so cheap seems to good to be true
PYLE waterproof amps
amazon.com/PLMRA400-Channel-Waterproof-Marine-Amplifier/dp/B000N5T0T4/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1326789439&sr=8-6

while looking those up i also found this which I have bought JBL products before and love them. but nevertheless why are both of these so cheap compared to
amps Im finding with the same stats and not waterproof?
amazon.com/PLMRA400-Channel-Waterproof-Marine-Amplifier/dp/B000N5T0T4/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1326789439&sr=8-6

also how about these waterproof subs? they are small and would be perfect in my jeep.
amazon.com/Pyle-PLMRBS8-Low-Profile-Super-Slim-Active-Amplified/dp/B003P136SY/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1326833 415&sr=1-1-fkmr1

I worked at a marine store or several years. The only thing that makes them "waterproof" is a thin layer if silicone on the circuitry. There is no such thing as waterproof electronics. Especially audio equipment.

I had the PYLE Hydra Series PLMRA620 - amplifier 2000 watt in my boat powering 4 pyle subs and 6 hydra 6.5" speakers.
Sounded awsome The amp is way to big for a jeep i kept the amp and subs but have know idea where to put it in the jeep its big. And they have a life time warranty. I have been tossing the idea around to put a system in the jeep the amp i would buy would be the smaller pyle hydra series.

Default equipment

i originally had an mtx amp fried due to water issue i replaced it with a pyle marine 4ch amp it works but the sound is not a crisp and clean as the mtx amp. in the dash i have polk db6501's and the matching coax set in the sound bar. i have had that pyle amp in h2o from a fast and strong storm the water never made it to the connections but did on part of the housing as i fell off the wood mount i made still worked the next day and still is 6 mo latter. i just dont have the coin to buy a mtx or jbl marine amp. mine is also mounted under the drivers seat as well i have a piece of carbon fiber mounted to the seat rail to keep spray off of it and prying eyes when doorless.
