removed the top center dash piece and this is what i found...

keep in mind i have an X with no mygig or anything...

is there power in this that I can tap a switch to?

that would be the plug-in for the compass. Not sure about power....

That is not correct!


It is just the plug for the compass. If your Jeep had the compass there would be a little box plugged in there. The gps antenna gets mounted to the left of that plug where the little raised X is. There is no wire for it, cause the wire is part of the GPS antenna and only comes on the mygig (RER) version. Good try though.

Last time I pulled my dash apart to install my bluetooth mic i forgot to plug that in. It just prevented the compass from displaying on the gauge cluster. My guess is that you could just buy the electronic compass module plug it in there and it will just show up on your cluster.
