Why has nobody tried to install subs under back seat? Bad idea?

Why has this not been tried? Or has it and I'm missing it? Any thoughts, help? Thanks!

In a Unlimited? I personally would try it because I love the fact that the seat folds flat. Sure there is a huge gap I just grab the dog bed and throw in in first with anything under it the fold flat feature is gone.

Loose room. the backseat lowers when you drop the backrests. no place to put a sub and still keep the storage area

Probably because you lose all That extra cargo space with seats being able to fold down. Just not practical for my tastes. If you don't need space it should work great though.

Or you know it could be because that space is needed to fold the seats flat.

or because of the wet factor(things on the floor tend to get wet in jeeps).

or because the padding of the seat muffles your bass.

I am in the middle of doing it. I have both boxes built and just waiting for the wiring I need.

Not a lot of room under there. You need sub that take very little space.

I will have mine finished by this weekend.

Not everyone needs to be able to fold their seat down. My Jeep is my play vehicle. I have a truck to haul things.

I linexd (ok, cheap Autozone bed liner) the boxes. Don't plan on ever getting the Jeep so deep in water it is in the floorboard.

My subs are firing straight out against the passengers feet.
