Will higher wattage bulbs work
I was planning to change my headlights to a higher wattage bulb. Has anyone done this and will it work without problems. Otherwise Ill try the silverstars.

I think it will draw more current and that leads to melting of the wiring.
|
No they won't work.
Hope that helps. |

Almost. They draw more current, but will trip the relays to cut off before melting anything, making them useless.

If the headlights are like the foglights they wont work. People have installed 55 watt fogs in place of the 42 watt bulbs and had some strange results.

They will work
I put in a set of Vision X premium white headlights. They 80/100 Watt xenon lights. The stock lights are a 55/60 Watt so they are quite a bit brighter and very white. They also give the headlights a nice blue colour when they are off. Their website is www.visionxonroad.com you are looking for the H13 light. I think the model number is VX-HH13. They cost me less than $25 for the pair. I have been running them for over a month with no fuse or melting problems.

I have upgraded my factory fog light bulbs (42 watt) with NOKYA 55 watt bulbs about one month ago. No problems here

I also have replaced mine with Vision X bulbs and it made a hugh difference. They are a deal at under $20 a pair.
