Will this NAV unit work?
First time posting. I just bought my first Jeep and hope everyone here will share there wisdom.
I have a 2009 Rubicon and have the factory sound system with the infinity sub. The head unit is the one with 2 knobs and has uconnect but it is not activated etc, etc. I want to install a "KENWOOD DNX-6980" in it's place. I don't mind if I have to buy the harness, USB and ipod cables and the GPS antenna but I would like to know will it work with the factory setup and will it fit in the space of the factory opening. If it sticks out, how far will it stick out.
I also would like to know about the power rating.22 watts RMS for the Kenwood. How does that rank with the factory setup. I am not looking to wake people up on the next block I lake the factory sound (to a point).
Thanks for any help.

It will fit just fine and will not stick out at all if installed correctly. There are mounting inserts available that make it look almost factory. If you are running the infinity system you will be connecting the low level outputs of the Kenwood so your power output will stay the same. I just replaced the rest of my infinity system and have a can bus interface available if you are interested as I no longer need it.
Thanks for the input. Where is the best place to buy install kits? I haven't installed a stereo since I was 18. Again thanks for the answers. If everyone could send pics of their stereos I would like to see the different installs.
Thanks

It's very easy to insall. It's all plug and play. There is one metal bracket in the back that you will have to cut and remove. Some people unbolt it (pain in the ass) ill find the DIY install thread and post you a link.
Here is a link with pics on how to install.

Don't waste your money, do it your self... It's actually very straight forward. I did my own. It was easy with this write up.
