OK. I have decided to install my solenoid (ENGO 10K) under the hood of my '13 JK. So I started searching for longer cables. I need 3 of them. What is the difference between standard battery cable and welding cable? I think I'm understanding correctly in that you can use either type for this type of project. Called Engo and they said I need 3 gauge wire.

 

welding cable is more flexible and has many small strands, usually 30 AWG wires.[ Battery cable on the other hand has fewer but strands but larger solid wires. Welding cable can be used as battery cables, but battery cables should not be used as welding cables.

 

Where did you find a place under your hood to mount the solenoid? I have a 2012 and can't find a place to mount mine. Mind showing a pic of how you mounted yours up?
