i picked up a set of quick connects for my winch online.

i soldered the winch leads into the metal tips for the connects--they're in pretty solid.

my issue is with the actual wires themselves not staying in the quick connect housing. the little metal tabs don't hold the wires inside.

did anyone else have this issue? did i buy cheap $20 connects? should i have gone Warn for 50 bucks?

when the connecters mate it's really solid, but when disconnected the red plastic flops off.

someone suggested filling the gap where the wire sits with some silicone caulking.

help!!!
