Default Windshield Light wiring

I'm not very comfortable with wiring - never have been but have wired lights a few different times. I was reading this write-up (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/hella-rallye-4000-modified-install-17622/) and had a few questions:

1) Will wiring this way allow me to turn the lights off and on with the switch and have them come on with the highbeams?

2) If so, does anyone have the wire-by-wire breakdown? (i.e. wire tapped to highbeam goes....wire from 12v source goes ....power to relay, etc.)

most wiring harnesses have a switching power source that runs through the switch to the rellay to fire up the lights. If you connect the harness the way the company tells you to your lights will come on with the switch only. If you want them to come on with your high beams without the switch you will have to add a circuit. Very easily done. Tap the high beam wire and run it to the rellay on the same terminal that the swiching wire goes to. Now your lights will come on with the switch or the high beams.

Just a note: In most places it is illegal to drive on the road with those windshield mounted lights on. The laws are usually written that lights must be under a certain height off the ground and no higher then hood height. IE top of light even with or lower than the top of the grill.
