Default Windshield Lighting Question

My wife bought me a Rugged Ridge slim 100w 2 light kit with winshield mounts and the wiring harness for my birthday. My brother in law and I installed last night and it took about 2 hours, but we were actually stripping, soldering, and shrink tubing all of the connections. For the life of us we couldn't seem to find the parking lamp wire to have the ignition shut off. It was starting to get dark so we ran straight the battery to get them working, had to run some extra wire for this. They work and are super bright.

My question is...does someone have a pic or good explanation of where I should tap if I want to re-wire with an ignition shut off? Also, the switch has one LED that stay on because there is constant power, I know that will not really drain the battery but are there any other negatives to having them direct wired? I have heard of @$$ holes turning on your lights as a prank wwhen your top is off but I am more concerned about electrical issues moreso than that type of stuff. Thanks in advance.

I tapped mine right near the parking light under the passenger fender, then shrink wrapped the connection. It was easy to get to and I have had no problems tapping there. Like you said, I keep my top and doors off all summer and didn't want anyone messing with the lights when the ignition is off

I really didn't think about someone turning them on when I was parked?? That's pretty funny though.
Mine are hot all of the time so if I'm out in the woods at night the key doesn't have to be on to light an area?

Just my opinion.

Thanks, that is easy enough to do. I thought I had traced one of those to the harness right near the firewall on the driver side but it didn't work there. I can just run some additional wire down closer the the parking light to make sure it is the correct wire.
