Most people go with spots on the windshield to reduce the glare that floods would cause on the hood

Spots for the windshield, floods for the bumper.

Yeh, unless your gonna mount floods ontop of the windshield, they'd glare all over your hood usually. People tend to put their floods on roof racks and mounted high, I only have spotlights on my windshield and bumper.

I run the Rigid Dually D2 "wides". They are a hybrid throw/flood that are in-between driving spots and diffusion lights. Best of both worlds. I have them on windshield mounts and do not have a glare problem off the hood.
