Question wipers acting funny??

Hey guys, anyone else experiencing this? When I have my wipers on any of the intermittent settings the wipers will work fine for a few reps but then there will be a long delay in the timing and then they will make two passes really fast. They do it at random and the dealer already replaced the wiper switch on the column but that didn't help. I never know when they will do it so i can't even use the intermittent setting anymore. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

My wipers acted funny once, I told them to knock it off and get serious. Sorry, just had to do it.

Yeah i have the parking issue too in addition to this wierd behavior. Like I said they replaced the column switch already and nothing. Now after the second visit to the dealer they are going to replace the wiper motor. We'll see.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff. It's a Jeep. Fold the windshield down and wear Elton John goggles with the tiny wipers on them.

Well it seems the combination of replacing the column switch and the wiper motor solved this issue.

Mine is acting up also. It only works on high and low. The middles speeds only work on low setting for all clicks. IF i turn the wiper off it stops on a dime does not go back to the down position. Its terribly annoying trying to time it right so they are down. If i forget to turn them off before i kill the engine they will continue to run! Any ideas? switch or motor?

Can I ask what the dealership charged for the switch or motor replacement seperatly?

Looking at the wiring diagram:
Your inputs on the control stock send signals to the "Totally Integrated Power Module" through the interior CAN Bus. The TIPM sends power to the motor.
Good luck troubleshooting that!! I'd take it to the dealer.

Edit to add:

Looking at the service manual:
There is a lot of troubleshooting regarding the wipers. However, it all describes using the factory scan tool. That would pretty much defeat our attempts at finding the problem

Edit again to add:

I just read in another thread disconnecting the battery (negative terminal only) for a few minutes, then reconnecting it will most times cure strange electrical behaviors.
