Default Wiring

Wanting to know if its okay to tap into the sidemarkers hot lead for switch power? The thing is I removed the sidemarker lights. Can I still use them for power? Don't know a lot about how the jeeps wiring and system works. I do know how to connect and run the lights just didnt know exactly where I needed to get switch power. What are the pros of running them off the sidemarkers. I want to be able to turn them on anytime I flip the switch not just with the high beams.

I also removed the fogs. I guess I could eliminate the switch altogether and run the new lights off the fog switch... Anyone got any ideas of what's the best way to go about that???

That's where I tapped into to trigger the relay for my PIAA driving lamps. I believe, but can't say for sure, that it isn't monitored by the CAN BUS, so seemed like a less risky place to tap.

I think I will just run off the fog switch.. I'm assuming this is safe without fogs hooked to the factory wiring? Anybody want to confirm this?? Here's the setup: no fogs hooked up, but factory wiring in place. Use connector on one of the hot wires to trigger relay? Is this okay?

Without the fogs hooked up, just the empty receptacles dangling under the front bumper? There actually tucked and zip tied and covered with grease and electrical tape. Just need some help, don't really want to burn the jeep down

Yes, the sidemarker lights.
The trouble with running off the fog light switch is that it is only on with low beams and is cut off with high beams, while the side markers will always have power if the lights are on. So it depends on what/when you want to power.

This is OK.

If you decide that you don't want to use this method. Use a "fuse tap".

One question further: does the trigger need to be fused from the stock fogs to the relay? I wouldn't think so, but the harness that came with the lights has it for the switch and since its there I could use it if its needed. The stock stalk and line should be fused already, correct?
