Default Anybody have the new MasterTop stuff?

I got a quadratec catalog today and in it is the new MasterTop stuff and it looks sweet. It covers the front seats and has kind of like a rear window and the cargo area is covered with a tonneau cover and it makes your jeep look like a little pickup. I'm just wondering if it would keep you dry or if it's for sunny skies only. You buy the pieces separately and cost is well under $500.

I saw the catalog too and was wondering about the MasterTop stuff. Funny thing- Bestop items aren't listed in Qtec, but it seems the Master stuff is listed heavily. Also, Bestop is only 30 mins up the road. I'm curious if there was a buyout with the new model coming down the line.

LOL, I got sucked in to senselessly thumbing through the catalog as well. DFW is saturated with JKs, and I have only seen something similar to those around town once or twice. I recall asking myself "what's the point?" I don't mind the look, but the function doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't appear to be something that you'd want your jeep sitting overnight in a downpour with, and it kinda defeats the purpose of being topless. I've looked at it as something somebody who owns a jeep and wants to be topless to be "cool"...without actually being topless would buy .

MasterTop is a very high quality top manufacturer that is priced significantly lower than other comparable tops. They really have a great idea and I feel like they could be the next big soft goods type manufacturer. They are not a rebrand of any manufacturer, and make the product themselves. MasterTop products are manufactured in Mexico, using Made in the USA materials. If you are set on a summer top, mesh or similar, definitely give them a shot.

With regard to keeping out rain, the best summer style top for that is the Bestop Cable Style Safari Top. This top utilizes factory cable style door surrounds which provides the best rain prevention of a non-full soft top. However, just remember summer tops are not designed to keep rain out of the Jeep. Most are not sealed & the seams are not as sealed as a full soft top. If it is raining heavily, or water is pooled, it can leak through at the seams.

Don't forget, we do offer JK-Forum discounts as well!

For a discounted quote you can go about it 3 ways:

1) PM me with your first & last name, address, zip and the part numbers you would like to order. I'll reply back with a discounted quote if applicable. This takes 1-2 business days (or less) on average depending on PM volume.

2) E-mail my sales rep Rob at: RobW@quadratec.com Tell him you're a Forum user and would like a discounted quote. He'll get that going for you. He typically responds within hours if it's Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Eastern.

3) Call my sales line at 1-800-745-2348. Tell them you're a Forum user and would like to place an order with your Forum discount. Their hours are Mon-Thurs 8am-Midnight, Friday 8am-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm.

Whichever you prefer works for us.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks & have a great day!

Thanks for that quadratec. Resharp, I thought the same thing as you, that it wouldn't keep it dry during a storm. Looks good though. And for a pretty good price.

I will say, my opinion is coming from the stance that I am topless almost all the time, and enjoy it that way. I will plop a top on there when forced too under various circumstances. Although mine isn't a daily anymore, it used to be, and I'd drive to work in a suit and tie in the Tx summer with no issues. Speaking of....I have my wife's car torn apart at the moment so she had to drive my lil commuter car today. Woke up to rain and was forced to put the top AND doors on the jeep prior to going to work this morning .... and it's beautiful outside right now!!
