Thanks. Yeah, I know, sometimes it really feels like cheating! The idea though is that I will be able to run harder and harder trails (such as the Hammer trails out in Johnson Valley, CA) and that I will be able to run very fast in the desert.

I remember watching a test video of those being used. They ran the tires down to 0 psi, weighted the vehicle down, and then dragged it sideways across a parking lot. Beads held tight. The tire sidewalls didn't fair so well from such an odd type of abuse but the beadlocks worked great. However they were no where near 43 inch tires! Anyhow, hope they work well for you.

Hey Dave, Don't want to steal or post unrelated info on your beast thread. But, I'll ask anyway. Just curious if there is a write up of Vince's JK somewhere on the forum. In the most recent video his appears almost as capable as the "Beast". Although I love the "Beast" modeling mine with similar capabilities of his is probably more so in my financial ability. Just curious?

I agree - I'm really looking forward to wheeling them once I can get them aired down to about 4 to 5 psi. I got sold on them last year when I was at Moab, where traction is king. Vince and I met some awesome local wheelers and did a bunch of runs with them, and pretty much all of them were running some type of swampers on their buggies. That was good enough for me!

Regarding the Staun test video, that is great to hear, because that is exactly what I need.

Regarding your cartoon above, I'm still laughing...! I will show it to my wife and remind her just how lucky she is...!

No worries Nick - I get this question all the time. And, yes, Vince ("modestoperandi") has built an extremely capable rig. He has not posted a complete build thread, but if you search his posts, you will find some documentation of different aspects of his build and some trail videos. (BTW, he has very few posts because he works full-time for one of our companies, went to college, has a girlfriend, and is about to move to San Diego to go to law school - anyway, the boy does not have much spare time.)

Vince has done a lot of work on his Jeep on his own, as he is great with a wrench and a pretty capable welder, but he has learned most of this from Jim at HigherGround Fab, and Jim has done all the tuning and difficult work on Vince's Jeep. Anyway, what I can remember on Vince's 2010 JK 2-door Rubicon:

Full Traction long arms
EVO front and rear double throw down coilover suspension
EVO rock guards
EVO skins and fenders
An EVO proto-type spare tire carrier modified and improved by HigherGround Fab with Rotopax gas cans
39" BFG Krawlers
Spyderlock beadlock wheels
Dana 44 front with RCV axles, sleeves, gussets, truss, and 5:38 gearing
Dana 44 rear with 10 Factory axles
Sprintex supercharger installed by Road Race Motorsports
LOD front bumber
Warn Powerplant winch

Subscribed again and is my wife going to be upset. Near the end of your last build phase I was checking in 20 times a day.

Oh and Grand Prairie is in Alberta Canada. Real close to some great wheeling and some great guys in TNT. I had a chance to wheel with some of them this summer.

Can't wait to see the build continue.
