Elmer Jeep - 2008 JKU X
Decided to start a build thread for my 2008 Jeep Green 4 door X I bought bone stock in May of 2014. The mods below have been done steadily since then. I'll eventually take some time and add dates for each mod, but for now just pics.
The day I picked it up

Had to cut the huge stock bumper right away with some rough country end caps. Plastidipped the jeep emblem, keyholes, and antenna. Also got 20% tints, replaced the stock steps with some sliders, and replaced the plastic air dam with a skid row front skid
Finally got the doors off after having to replace one of the front driver side hinges that had a seized pin
Plastidipped the stock wheels and tinted the signal and side marker lenses with VHT Niteshade
Hard top off
Soft top from craigslist on
Got some parts in the mail, we'll get to those later
Took the carpets out
Used some bungee balls for rod holders
Got some new wheels and tires
Cut the flares
Sprayed the wheel wells
Finished result
Grill mesh mod
There's those parts again
After the lift, 3in Teraflex with Bilstein 5100s
Put the Teraflex decal on for some more hp
Hit the mountains
More decals, more hp
Installed some diy led rock lights
Installed a diy hilift mount
1.25 Teraflex body lift and cheapo harbor freight fogs
Put on the new rear bumper with tire carrier and some back-up lights
Got the tuffy conceal carry drawer for christmas
And some trekarmor seat covers
Lil flex action

Grade 8 hardware for the front trackbar

Installed the Rockhard license plate relocation bracket with oro platelite last weekend

Ace pro series stinger with 20" double row led light bar ready to go, just waiting on the Engo 12k winch to install

For now, this is how it stands

Tomorrow I plan to wash off all the nasty salt and grime from winter, replace the interior lights with leds, and throw in some Sylvania SilverStars.

Switched out the hard top for the soft top yesterday.

Added a DIY hi lift jack mount to my tire carrier today.
Engo 12k should be here by this weekend so I should be able to get the new bumper and winch installed on Saturday. I threw together a homemade wiring harness complete with relay and in-line fuse for the LED bar and will use the existing factory fog switch.

I ordered the winch with steel cable and plan to sell the cable and roller fairlead. I have 85' of black 3/8" Amsteel-Blue synthetic line on its way to me as well as an Ace hawse fairlead. Figured I would order the line and fairlead to my specs rather than ordering the synthetic version of the winch.
Once I have the new bumper and winch installed I'm going to start planning an install of in-cab winch controls. Stay tuned.
