JK505's East Coast Hunting and Weekend Toy Build
Finally got a day off where it did rain all day and got this beautiful piece of artwork on. Hats off to AG(KarmynsBeep) for painting it. Also checked how my gears were wearing since the install and they look awesome. Right wear pattern according my Yukon install for idiots guide book. Counting down the days to push her in TN!
Also, went to get my CO2 tanks filled today and a new guy make a chunk of dry ice in the bottom on my cylinder.... So I'm waiting for that to thaw out and then I'll pick it up. But I got my next fill for free since I had already paid for this one.

Well... Let's all have a moment of silence.
I've killed my winch. She was a good winch and never left me stranded. I was approached by a random guy in mud covered trail blazer outside of 7-11 and asked to help pull out a Grand Chero-car. He shot me $50 and we were on our way to start winching a fellow jeeper on "solid ground.".... Solid, my ass. Ol dude had this thing buried to the wheel wells in mud. I sent him swimming for the axle and hooked up. One solid pull down. The winch stalled on the second pull but then picked right back up again before it just stopped. We looked at each other and back at my winch. I smiled and said, "I think she's tired."
Having gotten him out of this pit, I hooked him up to a tow strap and went up up the hill no issue. So now, 11 days out from a big wheeling trip... I need a winch. I hate to say this but time to buy a Warn. Luckily, I think I'll be able to snag one before the trip. Let's hope so at least. I will say that I put that winch through hell. It's pulled me up walls and through trails in 4 states. I've pulled YJ's, TJ's, JK's, ZJ's back to back before. I think it's a good winch, but if you're going to be wheeling hard and expect a lot, I think it's best to look else where. If you're a casual wheeler and might need a helping hand time to time, I think this winch will do everything you need it to. It does have a 2 year warranty but I have no time to jump through hoops. I'll claim my warranty and sell the new one to offset the cost of the Warn Zeon.

I'm not "planning" on working it too hard. Glad it had a good run with ya. Now go order that Warn. Have fun on your trip!!
If you are going the Warn Zeon-S route... Here is a tip to save you an hour of getting pissed off and cussing warn engineers... When seating the synthetic line onto the drum, first throw that stupid zip tie in the trash. Get a coat hanger and pull the line through the drum with vise grips. One pull 2 mins.... I spent an hour on Friday doing mine until I looked up the above trick on the forum.
I beat the crap out of mine. It pulled me up near vertical walls before. I hope we have fun, 4 days of wheeling!!
Again, hope you have fun...be safe!!
Never fails with JK505! I got your back. Ordered this for you early this morning should be there by Wed. Size of that is 24.25" wide and height is 10.52". No more late night dip runs!
