My guess is your Jeep was towed behind a motor home or something. That's why you had wires going to the front along the frame. Now you can buy plug & play wiring with no splicing and diodes built it. PO used the type where you drill the tail lights and snap in another bulb. I'd bet my $$ that's what you're seeing. I tow mine so I know a little about the setups.

If PO used the top once, probably bot tired if storing that soft top and moved it on. The wiring and stuff is nbd IMO either. Builds change. If I sold my jeep today, I'd probably pull a lot of stuff off it too to sell separately. Either way though, you have a nice jeep that's coming along! Many years of smiles ahead.
Thanks, it's been fun so far!

Ah, that makes total sense. There are also larger-than-I-would-have-thought-for-foglight holes in the front frame too. So maybe they had the tow bar mounted there and the holes in that lower plastic piece were for the hooks. Great call on all that.

One year update, I guess. Crazy year too. But got this Bestop Sunrider. It was a mofo to install just because it was tough to get it all to line up. I dig it as I mostly only took off the panels anyway. Still looking for tires and deciding in a lift.

Got Weather Tech floor mats and prepping for my lift kit (which is lost by UPS. Shocks showed up; springs, hardware, etc. missing). But I bought new rear sway bar links for the front and pressed in the urethane bushings I bought for the front and rear.

Not yet. I literally just emailed 4wheelparts customer service to open a claim with UPS for losing the lift kit. They shipped 2 boxes and only the shocks showed up. Hopefully they ship out a replacement and I get the lift done in the next couple weeks. weeks.

I had that same lift on my 2010, I just bought a 2015 JKU and I'm thinking about going with the same lift and adding control arms and different components as I go. I think it's the best bang for you buck out there.

Nice. I had a 3" RE lift on my XJ. Really liked the quality and ride so I wanted to stick with RE. And I was really looking forward to getting it in and of course it gets lost.
