Wow - that IS quite an obstacle... I still think that insane rig of yours could handle it in some way! Any word on what will be done with the tree?

Default Sway-A-Way Race Runner Shocks

I posted earlier that I bought four 3.0 x 18 Triple Bypass shocks from the Sway-A-Way booth this weekend. They only had two with them at the show, and they said that they would get the others sent out to me on Monday. I was very pleased that these guys kept their word and UPS brought the other two shocks today. I'm very impressed by this company, the quality of their work, and I like that they are located in Chatsworth. They've offered to come out and help Higher Ground tune the shocks when its time.

I will definitely be ordering coilovers from Sway-A-Way soon, Jim just needs to figure out the exact size and springs needed.

We were looking at the shocks today. Compressed they are 29.50" long, and extended they are 48.00" long. Here are a couple of photos of the bypass leaned up against Jim's Jeep, which has 37" tires and about 5 inches of lift:

I will probably go with Sway-A-Ways hydraulic bumpstops also.

More parts should be arriving soon - I will keep updating as things arrive.

Caroline, Yes, but it is not very pristine - I think this is the best looking corner of my Jeep:

Hey Chris - Thanks, but I don't deserve any credit for the build, other than paying for it. I got lucky when Chris at Full Traction Suspension introduced me to Jim Cox of Higher Ground 4x4 in Sylmar about a year ago when we were working on Vince's lift. Since then Jim has been there every time we've gotten in over our heads, broken something, or just done something dumb - he's even come out and saved us once when Vince's rig broke on the road, and taken numerous calls from us when we were out on a trail and trying to fix something. He's got over 20 years of experience in the offroad world.

So, I did not have any concerns when I went to Jim last December and told him that I wanted him to build me the "dream JK" - one that would be able to go fast in the desert and get through the toughest Hammer trails while still being drivable on the street. I basically told Jim, "Think BIG, and do whatever you want to do to it!"
