Well I went to the beach and got into some loose sand so I put it in 4 low and got through the sand so I wouldn't get stuck like everybody else on the beach. When I went to leave and got back to hard ground 4 wheel drive lever just moved back and fourth easy and would not come out of 4 low....had to have it towed!! Anybody ever seen this? 2009 x unlimited..33s 3inch lift mud grapplers. Thanks

Sounds like one of the plastic bushings broke. There is one on each end of the transfer case shifter linkage. Parts will cost you a whopping $0.50 each

They get hot, brittle and eventually break.

If it ever happens to you again you can get under the Jeep and manually shift into 2WD to get off trail or home.

Def a design flaw. Happened to me too, had to drive home from trail in 4hi. Mine was on the shifter side of the cable, luckily easy to replace.

It gets towed to dealership in the morning, I have a extended warranty. I would think this will be covered under it?
