Just got all my stuff hooked up and my tank filled for $18 from Airgas. Dropped a tire to 15psi and filled it back to 28psi in 1:05

I didn't see it but which regulators do each tank use? The powertank standard regulator is usually 15CFM, but they offer a 22CFM high flow unit for about $100 more from what I recall. Where the regulators the same?

I run an electric air system (Warn Powerplant), but also just picked up a Powertank system for $100, which included the high flow regulator so I'm interested in some of the additional items you have specified.

Be VERY careful with the lower price regulators and hoses!

Many will FREEZE and stop operating, or worse, fail. My friends "value" regulator froze while he was airing up tire #3 and he had so sit around for over 20 minutes until it thawed. I had already aired him up using my electric system when he could re-use the tank.

Given the option, go cheap on everything but try to get a good quality line made for CO2 systems and the proper regulator (I'm not saying these are the wrong parts, I just want everyone to be sure they order the proper CO2 system components).

 

To the OP... Have you used it real world yet? Have you tried to air up all 4at one time?

 

Where can I get a good/cheap regulator? A friend of mine gave me a tank but it has no regulator. I'm not looking to spend $100 on a reg when I also have an on board air system.

 

I've seen them on Amazon for $40ish. The big deal is the flow so be sure to ask what the flow rate is for the one you buy. Try for 20CFM +. Powertank now makes a regulator that flows just under 30CFM. Talk about a fast fill!

I bought used system for fun and paid $100 for everything. It fills my tires in about 2/3 the time of my Powerplant, but my Powerplant is unlimited air and my CO2 tank fills 12 tires for every $20 in re-fill costs. I also had to pay for a hydro test on my used tank - $50 more! So I guess I am at $170 for a fully functioning, ready to go tank.

You can build a system as noted above for about $185. Or you can buy a pre-built system for $24 more that also includes the mounting bracket for $209 from TRDparts4u. Shipping is $19.95 via FedEx unless you live in the DFW metroplex and you can just pick it up. If you live in Texas you also pay taxes.
