Default changes to my jeep

Hi, I just purchased a 2008 Jeep and I want to improve it. I do not know anything about cars ...

The Jeep is very rigid, I can feel each bump, This will be my weekend car and I will drive it also on some trails while going hunting, Most likely not extreme off-road Are my wheels and tires stock? or the car was already modified?

I did my research and here is what I want to change and fix. I am still debating on some products

· Lift Kit - based on recommendations from a local place here

AEV 2.5” lift kit - $2000 parts & labor

https://www.quadratec.com/products/16502_4414_07.htm

Procal - $200 parts & labor

Fox Steering Stabilizer – $280 parts & labor

Geometry Correction Brackets - $215 parts & labor

Mount & Balance - $350 parts & labor (this includes the price of lugnuts, sensors and transferring the TPMS)

Tire Carrier - $750 parts & labor

Alignment - $125

· Radio. I am getting the 10 inch from Amazon they have a corresponding front camera and back up camera that I want to install them

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

· Seat covers

https://www.quadratec.com/products/14306_01XX_PG.htm

or https://www.quadratec.com/p/tecstyle...k#&gid=1&pid=1

https://www.quadratec.com/p/tecstyle...r-unlimited-jk

· Led lights for the back

· Fix carpet inside or install new carpet

· Figure out why the LED lights in the bar do not work? Where is switch?

· New Bar in the front ?? (maybe)

· Oil leak under the car

· Improve appearance for hand break and gear shifter

· New Hand Rest - https://www.quadratec.com/p/tecstyle...r-unlimited-jk

· New door Handle

· New exterior door hinges

· All Weather Floor Liner - https://www.quadratec.com/products/14254_032X_A_PG.htm

· Grab Handles https://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-gr...set-6509c.html

· TailGate Table - https://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-jk...ble-10630.html

· All Plastic inserts ( bezel) replaced New cover for AC ,door handle etc

Does anyone on this forum offers some sort of a consultation/shopping list recommendation?

I advise to remove those grill inserts to allow more cooling air to flow into the front of the rad.

Instead of the ProCal you might look at the Jscan app with a BT OBDII dongle for a fraction of the price. It will do all the programming you need in addition to giving you a great diagnostics tool on top of some other nice functionality.

Have you owned other solid axle vehicles? Some of the roughness is simply due to those solid axles. Where is Blue Bell? The labor rate to install the lift is redonk. That should be $500 max labor for a basic lift with no control arms IMO. I'd pass on the Fox stabilizer as well.....the factory SS is fine and if it needs to be replaced, the cheapest thing out there is fine too. As far as paying for an alignment, all they can really do is re-center your steering wheel and set your toe, which will not change with the lift, so keep that in mind. Centering your steering wheel is literally 2 bolts and a few minutes.....and they should do this for you anyhow as part of the lift install. Your caster will be set by installing the geo brackets so don't let them pull wool over your eyes on that in regard to an alignment.

Blue Bell is in PA, near Philadelphia.

Unfortunately I have no skill in doing the work myself

Y, I understand that some people might have to pay a shop to do this, but what they are charging you is highway robbery ($1k labor for a couple hours of work to throw springs under it and install shocks. You might just check around if you have any more options for shops in that general area.

Anyhow, you're on the right track with a lot of the stuff. AEV is probably a decent option for you and it's smart to add the control arm brackets to it. As far as carpet, you might look at BedRug as an option. It's a great product and reasonably priced. Those Bartact seat covers are expensive, but they are great as well.....about the best thing there is on the market.
