I prefer to save my winch for when i need it, i see it as a lasy resort kind of thing. And with that information you must assume i rather pull people out, sometimes i use chain and sometimes i use rope. Mind you; i shift to 4 low when pulling people out and tend to "crawl" them out slowly.. It always seems to work, worst case scenerio: ive had to tether myself to a tree to pull the person out

Lmao! Nice however, pulling out, does't make you immune to the... "muck" If you "pull out" you should wrap up your umm ..."axle" just to be safe.

got my new jeep stuck for the first time...frame sitting on solid snow while the tires dangled...tried to yank it out with my 78 kabota front end loader the the chain snapped and it shot back toward the jeep and smashed into my liscence plate...phew! not the back window or paint! Be careful
