Default Which fairlead do you prefer?

Just bought my winch and really don't care for the look of the rollers. What are the pro's and con's of the different fairleads?
(XRC8 steel cable and of course a snatch block)

For a steel cable, you'll be fine with rollers or a Hawse fairlead.

For synthetic line, go with an aluminum Hawse fairlead or rollers that haven't been used before with steel cable. The abrasions on used rollers can damage the synthetic fibers.

You'll find lots of good info in these threads.

The steel cable requires a steel hawse fairleaed or a roller fairlead. An aluminum fairlead will be cut into by the wire cable.

Synthetic rope requires an aluminum hawse fairlead to avoid pinching with the rollers or scuffing/tearing the rope with a steel fairlead.

Don't make the mistake of buying the wrong fairlead and ruining either the fairlead or your line...

After seeing how hard it is to come by a steel hawse I might end up with a roller and plate cover.
Post your steel hawse fairleads if you have them. I only see warn's and that bad ass one from Evo looks steel...
