folding snatch strap?

Default folding snatch strap?

is it bad practice to use a snatch strap folded in half? meaning can i loop it thru a hitch point on another vehicle and use BOTH loops hooked to my jeep?

I have done this many times when I have a short pull and dont need 20ft. I dont see a problem at all

Well, people do it and get away with it. But, you asked if it is "bad practice", and the answer is yes.
The body of any strap is not tolerant of being looped around such a small radius as a hitch point. It's just not good for the fibers/weave.
Plus, set up as you describe, the snatch feature of the strap is altered.

X2 on what he said, changes the snatching abillity of the strap.

I'm not fully versed in the difference between tow straps and snatch straps, but I have used 3 20's straps before to make a 50' pull (with one strap doubled).

Snatch strap is designed to stretch and then recoil to help pull the stuck vehicle.
A tow strap will not have this characteristic and will most likely break something when the slack is taken up.

That is why they are different. You use s slow steady pull on a tow strap and a fast almost jerk like motion on a snatch strap that is why these things come with instructions read them, follow them for safe operation

So the answer seems to be avoid if possible do it if necessary.
Even if used correctly as intended all straps will wear out.
If you are the type that uses it a dozen times a weekend consider buying a new one every other month or sooner.
