here's my basic tool kit, what am I missing
I would add
- tarp (in case you have to lay down under your jeep on a wet area)
- breaker bar with sockets and extension
- big roll of duct tape
- engine belts
- at least 1/4 of each fluid in your Jeep (engine oil, tranny oil, etc)
- one or two spark plugs
- U-joint (a friend of mine busted his and the spare made a big difference)
- one of those mini-torches that can also dub as a solder (Radio Shack or Home Depot has them) and the solder wire - good for some electrical fixes
- electrical tape
- a .mil ammo can (those large types) to put all this stuff in ;-)
Everything else looks fine. Nice job.

Just another trip to Moab White Rim, I have never (knock on wood) had to use anything here and hopefully I never will but it is a comfort to know that you do have something in the bag to help out youself or another in trouble.

i always have a small backpack with a complete change of clothes including rain gear and both jeans and shorts as the weather can change and put a damper on your ride and having a change of clothes can make for a much happier ride

What they said and...
Crawl under your jeep. Are you packing the right tools to IN THE DARK :
Remove drivelines?
Can you remove u-joints and pound them out in case you need to isolate front wheels from diff(IE broken ring gear.)
Would you be able to remove an axel?
A carrier if need be?
Trash bags for fluid retreval?
Light to see by?
heavy duty rachet strap in cause you bust a control arm or bracket.
how about some welding rod and jumper cables to make a trail welder.
An electric impact gun?
We have used all of the above in the last 3 months for trail fixes. These were not big wheeling trips either, just bad luck in the woods.
Be the guy that is prepared. Be the guy that has all the shit.
Hope this helps!

Everytime I work on the Jeep in the garage I use the tools that are in my Jeep tool bag. If I needed it in the garage and didnt already have it in the bag then it IS now. Even if you don't have to work on the Jeep, roll around underneith it and start puting wrenches on bolts, etc. If it wasn't in your tool bag then add it. I generally recommend keeping your nice tools in the Jeep and crappy tools in the garage. The last thing you want on the trail is to break your p.o.s Harbor freight wrench and now you're f'd.
