An older model perhaps? The M looks a little different these days. The previous owner was less than kind to it. Or the cable at least... Considering a new masterpull synthetic.

Not sure but the synthetic will be much lighter, don't have to worry about get poked with fraid steel wire and if the rope breaks it won't cut your head off lol

Retaining my head in its natural location is always a plus! As is reduced bumper weight.

Cheers for the info, Bob-o!

If u get a synthetic rope, try to get a cover for the winch so the rope isn't exposed to all the elements. Technically your supposed to replace the rope every 12months. I always keep mine covered from this California sun to save it. I haven't had a problem with the rope yet and all my buddies have had the same syn ropes for years now

Great to know! This Mississippi sun, extreme humidity, and heat are equally bad. I doubt I'd use the rope once per 12 months. So replacing it that frequently would be overkill.

Note to self: get winch cover.
