How do you know how far off camber you can go before you go on your side?

There are so many variables, I don't see how you could know that without actually going to the limit. Even if you had an angle number, it would change with mods, and that day's loading.

I've been over far enough that it felt like it could go at any time, but that fear is an individual thing. Someone else driving it may think it had all kinds of safety margin, (considering it is my Jeep).

A inclinometer is a good tool to have too. There's plenty of apps for it too. Gives you a measurement of where your at.

I think a lot of it has to do with experience too. I have noticed that the more I go the further I take it. Hoping that I dont take it too far one day.

If you do, make sure to note how you could tell just before it happened, and post it up.

It all depends on the load of the vehicle really and if your rolling, bumping over a rock, or at a stand still. If your uncomfortable while in the vehicle then don't push it. It takes quite a bit to get you just to tip on your side if your not moving and your sitting stock, I think I remember reading something close to 40 degrees which is pretty hard core. Now will you ever hit 40 without tipping, probably not as your vehicle will most likely slide on the terrain before you reach that, or you may tip before that as you are loaded heavy on one side or you have a lift which changes all the calculations again. When I was green (and still am as i always am learning something new) any side angle freaked me out. Little by little I got to pushing it further, I am sure one day I will end up on my side which will hopefully be in my rock buggy so I won't cry. The inclinometer apps are great as well they give you an idea of extreme angles with audible warnings, I have one and have it set to warn/alarm at 30 which feels really bad anyways. When your new to the feeling it seems a lot worse then it is, you can stand on an angle very easy but sitting is an awful feeling, if your not comfortable with it don't do it....your buddies are your buddies and are gonna tell you to do it, its not there rig thats doing it remember that, if you can't afford the damage don't try the angle.

As the guys above have said there are soo many variables. i just try to judge it by feeling, if you are worried about rolling and its feels very off camber there is probably a good chance your could role. i think experience is everything.

Turning in the direction of your off camber will most likley correct it. you just gotta know when and how much. sometimes it's a spendy lesson. just remember to take it slow and as in your pic you usually get a little warning that things are gonna go bad if you continue. Oh and one more thing you are way safer belted in the jeep than getting out to look to see how high your rear wheel is. Just the weight transfer could be enough to send you on over. have someone else look.
