Well Saturday Im going wheeling. While its not my first time wheeling I just want some pointers so it dosent end up like the last time I went wheeling
I have an 08 X with 4" lift and 35's. Snorkel and blah blah blah. NO LOCKERS THOUGH. I hate scary hills.
One question I have is how fast can you go in 4 low. I like to wheel in 4 low cause it seems easier on the clutch.

how do you guys get past that sickening feeling while going over hills. I hate when your going up and it feels like you are going to tip back.
with a clutch it sucks if you hit an obstacle up a hill. Does the hand brake come into effect here? will this help with the rear brakes.

I rarely use 4lo, simply because the Jeep can go just about anywhere in 4hi. I will throw it into low if I have a difficult obsticle I am abot to climb and I think I might need it. Sometimes I will actually go to 2wd just to see how far I can make it before I need 4wd
Don't worry about flipping. Just take your time and pay attention. As long as you are straight up or down the hill, as opposed to at an angle, it is very tough to flip a Jeep end over end. It's the angled approaches that you need to be mindful of. Watch your spotter, and after you have done it for a while, you won't be as nervous. My wife used to almost pee her pants when she first started wheelin' with me. Now she can't wait to go, and she actually looks for trails and obsticles to take on. You get used to it.
Go half way up a hill sometime that makes you feel nervous. Then get out, and look at the Jeep. You will see it's not as bad as it feels from inside the Jeep.
