Off roading Bible
Eh, yeah, Youtube is good entertainment for wheeling how-to. I love to watch videos of people wheeling. I'm still learning and the one thing I gather is that every trail and obstacle is different. And all spotters think they've got the magic smoke with which to guide the driver. Sometimes they don't and that's either painful or funny to watch.
The one thing that perplexes me is the "hey, watch this!!!" -mentality when it comes to rather deep mud and water. IMO, I'm going to drive around the deep stuff and avoid it at all cost because mud and general immersion in water is a maintenance nightmare. The videos make some good points for what NOT to do

Just go on a noob run like i did im still new but i try the harder stuff but my jeep is stock. Like said before if your not comfortable then ask for a spot. Umm regarding 4hi its used if your going faster than 25 mph and 4 lo is for low speeds.
Don't go alone ever!! Just take it easy go on some dirt roads then hill climbs then rocks then bigger rocks if your rock crawling
Im not sure where you live but im sure theres jeepers near you that will help you out!(:
