all i can say is, if you learn to drive manual WHILE off-roading, and you manage not to burn your clutch, you'll be a pro at manual driving!!!!. i learned to drive manual on hills

Jeep got it right with the crawler gear in the Rubi. Just back off the clutch very slow and it will not stall. Even when starting on mid grade hills just allow one foot to come off the brake while backing off the clutch. my wife was getting a kick out it last week when we were hill climbing with "no feet".
