Preparing for trail fixes
as shown in this thread there is a ton of stuff that would be useful on the trail, but the one thing that i find most important is to plan your route and drive your route and make sure some one back home knows your plan.

I can't get all that in my 2dr either. I sometimes pull a trailer to the staging area and leave most of the camping stuff there. This works well for most of the places we go.

"what would you all recommend bringing on a trail as a spare in case something breaks or goes out?"
i bring an extra steering stabilizer, tie rod and drag link as far as parts go.
tire plug kit, air compressor, full tool box, shovel and saw. and i have a small box of assorted nuts and bolts as well

Just a thought - sometimes on overnight runs when we're taking alot of gear my buddies and I will divvy up who's taking what. Not everyone needs to take a full compliment of "what if" gear. Each of us always take first aid and survival items. We think about the route and make sure we're going to stay together (most of the time) and are mindful that accidents happen quickly and can ruin a really good day. There's a million reason's to bring what items and gear. One of the most useful after a winch and snatch block are one of those portable welders pictured above. Just my $.02

something about it will keep your wheel from coming out
