I find it awkward waving to a jeep that's riding next to me on a two road or highway. I'm all excited and waving like it's Santa Claus riding up to me. Most of the time they ignore me.

A close friend once told me, "Always wave. It doesn't matter if they don't wave back - you're waving to the Jeep. Unless of course the driver's hot, then you're waving to both."

I think this is a good thing to keep in mind in the DC area since it seems a lot of Jeepers are oblivious. Perhaps DC Jeepers don't wave as much during the week because they're pissed they have to work. I notice a lot more waves on the weekends. LOL

Alaska jeepers aren't much better. It's pretty close to the weekend Jeep renters I encountered in Moab, Utah.

Everyone needs to instruct their wives to wave back when waved to, I've yet to receive a wave from a jeep mom. However I don't expect them to initiate the wave.

My wife is under strict orders to wave at any Jeep she passes when driving mine.

I prefer the 2 finger wave (index and middle) with my hand on the streering wheel at 12 o'clock, discreet and if the other Jeep driver is looking and in the know, he'll respond in similar fashion.

I can not believe I just read through this whole thread !!!
Even here in the Black Hills not everyone waves back, manly in town-better out of town.
My daughter taught it to me, she has had several and it was a dealer salesman that instructed her (in Florida).
