Thank you. I only want a shovel attached to mine. Maybe a tool bag mounted also. I was concerned with the diameter of the clips compared to the handle of the shovel.

Every time I think of doing this all I can think of is a flying weapon coming at the back of my skull if I get in a wreck. Are you guys bolting them down or just screwing them into the tailgate?

Mark Doiron here on the forum uses a hi lift mount for the hood hinges to keep his shovel and axe, similar to this one (I'm not sure what specific brand he has): http://www.quadratec.com/products/92200_300_07.htm. Check out pretty much any of his videos on YouTube and you can his setup.

Tough Stuff kit. It comes with parts to secure either a Hi-lift, or a shovel and axe. I just had to use that shovel Thursday when I got stuck heading out to shoot a few bird pictures. Used it to dig up the Pull-Pal.

I'll definitely b screwing mine in. In case of an on road accident, I have a subwoofer box that's strapped in behind the rear seat plus the rear seat as a barrier IF these things do release. If I ever do have my seat folded down it'll be because I needed the storage place for cargo which will just add more potential flying projectiles....lol.....that will have to be solved by a cargo net of some sort

I used bungee ball straps to mount my shovel to the rear roll bar.

There when I need it and easily removed for use. Out of way.

Pic tomorrow.

Here is a link to my setup. It's the same one Mark Doiron has. It's a hood mounted setup and I love mine. http://youtu.be/9t6uA2aS2t4 This is a review I put out on YouTube

I also meant to mention that I was just hit on the freeway at about 40 mph from behind while I was stopped in traffic last weekend. The shovel and axe didn't move an inch.....

That's not bad. Like the idea of them outside but looks high.
