Snatch block
OK,, I admit that I have not been carrying a snatch block and chain. I alway figured I was a lightweight wheeler. Well it seems the more we go the more trouble we find ourselves in,, imagine that.
Well after yesterday I decided I need to carry one. Lucky for us 2 guys in the group had them.
What is concidered the best one to get? One guy in our group had the Warn 61560 which is the one I used yesterday.
And after yesterday I think I will switch to synthetic rope also.

I noticed my steel cable had 2 spots that crimped and are starting to fray... time for it to go.
And I know I will drop a few lbs by switching to synthetic and I read where it is a bit safer and it has to be easier to work with.

You may want to watch running synthetic line through a snatch block that has previously been used with a steel cable. The cable could chew up pulley enough as to damage the synthetic. The same would apply to a new synthetic being used through a old used roller Fairlead.
