Snatch Strap
I have found a fairly good deal on a rugged ridge recovery strap. First off are these straps any good but more importantly what weight rating to get. I am torn between the 20,000 and the 30,000. I am leaning to the 30,000 because when I need it I don't want the strap to break. Also do any of you know a good place to buy d-rings for a goo price.
Suggestions and thoughts???

Most of the tow snatch straps sold by major companies are decent to very good straps. It is very unlikely a good condition strap(s) break during recovery. I have used both 20,000 and 30,000 lbs rates straps for many years and never had any problems.
Now as for D-rings. The true heavy duty green pin D rings are very pricey. They go for around $45 each, made in USA. Many of us are carrying the less expensive D rings which are sold by Quadratec, 4WD, Warn and etc. And their manufacture of origin varies (US, China & etc). They are sure up to the regular uses during recoveries.

I picked up a 4 towing shackles for my Jk's bumper(s) for like $15.00 each & they have the green class 8 bolts through them. I got them at a tractor supply store locally. If you are going to be using them for vehicle recovery or any other heavy application. I recommend class 8 only. It's more expensive stuff. But you'll not have to worry about breaking anything

I am a newbie to this, but it does seem to be a bit of difference between the two (snatch strap stretches and uses the stored kinetic energy to aid in the recovery and the tow strap doesn't) If that is the case, maybe the weight loads listed for each strap to achieve the results may be different for the different applications... that is why I posted the link. It was helpful to me! Thanks for the thoughts....
