Which is better a tow strap or a snatch strap???

 

I just won a Bubba rope strap at a ride here in texas. These things are awesome!

As for the difference a tow strap is just that a towing or tie down strap. Used to tow vehicles. A snatch strap while similar is not a tow strap. A good snatch strap will have some give to it. More than a tow strap. But not like a rubber band or anything. You will do less damage to your vehicle and someone elses with a snatch strap due to the extra give. It will also give you a little extra ooomph to get somebody out of the mud.
You will pay a little (or a lot) more for a good snatch strap.

A snatch strap can be be used like a tow strap, but a tow strap will not act like a snatch strap. I have a few snatch straps and you definitely get what you pay for. ARB has nice stuff and not to pricey for why you get. I have a masterpull and it's a beast of a strap.

 

For some reason when I see snatch strap it sounds like a sex toy...

Im not sure i would want to use a Snatch Strap as a Tow Strap in some situations.

I pull someone off the highway our out of an intersection several times a year. I dont think i would want to use a snatch strap for this. I dont have a reason other than they wouldnt expect the bungee effect?

Feel free to correct me or add to this as im just winging it.

 

I carry multiples of each. But I would carry one of each and if you dont have the room I would go for the snatch strap. Reason being the snatch has a bungee effect that you need some times. But a tow strap is a lot more predictable which is important if using it with some that either doesn't know how to use a snatch strap or has never experienced one.

 

Tow strap if used with a winch, snatch strap without.
