Hey guys,
Can some one tell me the function of a sway bar and the benefit of adding a diconnect to it? Thanks!

A sway bar stiffens the front suspension to prevent body roll on the street. It's disconnected on the trail to allow the axle to move more freely and maintain all four tires on the ground for maximum traction.

edit: oh yeah, you should check out the modified tech faq's, tons of good starter info for ya.

And just for clarification, you can disconnect your sway bar with nothing more than a wrench. Thats what I (and a LOT) of guys do

When people talk about adding something in regards to their sway bars, they are usually talking about quick disconnects for their sway bars. These facilitate in the process of disconnecting, but are not a requirement for disconnecting.
