Default trail PSI

I've got a fairly heavy 2 door with 285 70 17 BFG KO2s, load range E. They are mounted on factory wheels. The question is, how low would you go on air pressure for general trail riding? I had Duratracs before with a C load range and ran around 15 psi, these Es are stiff though and I'm not sure they'd give much at that psi. Any thoughts?

I run 12 most of the time on E rated 37s on 8.5" x 17". Sometimes as low as 8, never an issue.
