Transmission still overheats after trans cooler installation
A'ight. I've got a '08 JK. Automatic. I recently had a trans cooler added and today was the first time tooling around offroad since the cooler was added. And....HOTOIL message came up again. The hills weren't so bad that I needed to shift into 4LO or even 4HI. We were in 2WD with the transmission in Drive and O/D on. Granted, I may be stupid here, and if so, tell me so. I've read conflicting posts about O/D on vs. O/D off, and Drive vs. 2nd gear vs. 1st gear. I bow to experience in this case. And I had the transmission oil and filter changed around the same time of the cooler install. Do I now have to changes the oil even tho it hasn't changed color. Thanks. I'll be over here coloring whilst waiting on your replies. Again, thanks.
At the time 6500lbs empy, 5.38's, 3.8, 40" Trail graplers.
Did the Rubicon loaded up in 100* heat and trans stayed 220* or less trans and oil temps.
Normally would stay 200* or less.
On my '07 running 37's MTRs, 5.38's 6000lbs empty same results.
I run 5-40 Schaffers full SYN.
