Moby blew up his gears and just took them out and drove home in 4 wheel drive

I have a 1999 Chev silverado after they changed the design They used some cheap driveshaft in the things that warps over time. I replace u joints in that thing about every year (10k). I have had several fail, and four wheel drive has gotten me home every time.

Was wheeling with my brother years ago in his '78 Chevy blazer and blew up a rear universal. Drove it home in front wheel drive about 30-40 miles without an issue.
