I'm cleaning the wiring solenoid connectors in the controller box on my Warn M8000 winch. Do Warn solenoids have polarity or orientation when re-installing them? While I kept a diagram of how all the wires connect to each solenoid x 4 I didn't keep track of how each solenoid was oriented when I took them off to clean the 4 posts on each one.
For reference attached is a picture of what one Warn solenoid looks like for this winch, which is the older style with 4 total solenoids and not the newer style with just one Albright contactor.
Unmarked, old-school solenoids are "polarity insensitive" as far as what wire goes where. Apply power on one side and ground on the other (either way) and the contact closes.
