Default Weekly inspections

Before and after wheeling we all know how important it is to inspect the vehicle, but since I'm a newibie I would like to know what list of things to check and how.

Thanks!

Inspecting your jeep after off-roading is definitely a good idea to do! A good place to start is to check all your control arm bolts, shock bolts and if you have adjustable control arms, your jam nuts, to make sure they are tight. Put a torque wrench on them and tighten to specs. With all the vibrations that happen while on dirt, things can come loose. Also you probably should inspect your tires for any signs of damage (bulges, tears, etc.) If you have adjustable control arms with zerk fittings, you might want to go ahead and grease them while you're at it.

A summary:

1. Check bolts (control arm bolts, shock bolts, jam nuts, sway bar link bolts)
2. Inspect tires
3. Grease zerks

This is just a start and I'm sure others will add to the list.

I personally check everything on the undercarriage of the jeep to see if there are any new or exsisting dents. Close inspection for leaks. Fix what is needed. clean under carriage.

I look for leaks on the garage floor. Periodically check the oil for contamination. and get it serviced regularly.

If I have been banging the underside on the trail, I might be tempted to look at the damage.

Other than that, listen hope and prey.
