Default What angles are too steep - clinometer

Am setting up Smittybilt's iPhone Clinometer and I have to say it is the best app I have downloaded for offloading. I just need to figure out if the default angles are good for my JK.
--285/75-17 with 1.5" wheel spacers on factory rims
--2.5 inch BB on softer factory springs
--Soft-top, heavy duty bumpers and winch and usually a passenger

Defaults angles in the Clinometer:

--Roll 30 degrees warning, 45 degrees alarm

--Pitch up 40 deg. warning, 60 deg. Alarm

--Pitch down 50 deg. warning 65 degree Alarm

This is one of those situations where the clinometer that you were born with, also known as the pucker factor, will outdo any iphone app. Clinometers are great for seeing your max roll/inclines, however, when it comes to the flop there are a variety of factors. Traction, speed, wheel speed, locked, unlocked, sway bar engaged or disconnected, fuel level, and the list goes on...

Best guage to use, by far, in any given situation, is YOUR rear end. If it puckers, its probably something that you need to reconsider, use great caution, or put the skinny pedal to the floor. Doesnt come with a battery either... Hopefully

Yup. Too many variables, even on the same Jeep from one trip to another. There is no certain safe angle to approach, thinking it won't roll prior to it.

Get a fork lift and ruler. Measure till she rolls over. Then come back here and let us know what it was.

A lot depends on how your tires are and if you have sway bar discos. A JK with discos will act different than one without, plus a lot will depend on how the vehicle flex's, like a two door will act different than a 4 door. Your question is probably going to be vehicle specific depending on your mods.

You will never know the full limitations of your jeep if you dont push them.

i think the 'pucker' factor continues to getting less as you get older.

good luck with your apps, everything is electronic these days! Need to rely a little more on natural instincts. If it tilts a little and you get scared (warning), if it flips over, it was too steep of an incline (alarm).
