Desert Fox has some great advise. You will be able to do some awesome surprising stuff with just a stock Jeep. Build up your skills before you spend millions into you Jeep. A stock JK is a very capable vehicle.

I still have my flat fender after over 30 years. The first item I bought for the JK is a CB. Without the CB you never know what is going on and you cannot ask for help when needed.

Just my opinion.

Most items have already been covered, but do not forget sunscreen for you and for your kids. Especially if you plan on taking the top and doors off.

Stock for stock you cant beat a Jeep - you'll be impressed!

I know the quick disconnects save time. Are they worth the $120 or is it just as easy to carry the allen wrench. How are easy are they to put back on?

I will definitely have to pick up a CB also. I am taking my two kids though. Is the chatter usually clean?

Thanks
That will be my first Jamboree too. I'm looking forward to it. This helped me out as well. Thanks for the question!

I remember when we only took two items: Gas and Beer. Desert Fox gives a great list - I had my son put a copy of it in the glove box for future reference. You'll have a great time-in the least you'll be prepared.

If you haven't done so already, take out your carpet. That will save you lot of extra cleaning if you get into muddy areas.

Also makes the drain plugs easy to get to.

A roll of good duct tape is also handy.
