Default Winch line thimbles

I'm looking to put a thimble on my winch line. H0w many folks here have them? any regrets to it?
I have synthetic line so I would have to resplice the line, but that doesn't seem too difficult to do.

I run a Viking safety thimble, love it. Safe, strong, easy to use...and way, way cheaper than those factor 55 deals.

Yeah leaning towards the Viking because the price is right.
I have a smitty winch with synthetic line and I would need to either cut the hook off or unsplice so might as well go with the viking

how hard is re splicing the line, for half the cost of the 55 it would be worth some effort?

I have the factor 55. Love it. Easy to use and strong as all hell. It's a bit pricy, but its something I plan on buying once, so it's not too bad.

I have the factor 55. I decided to just cut the steel hook that came attached to the synthetic line.(smitty x2o winch) I didn't want to deal with unthreading the line and then re-threading. Cutting took all of 10 minutes. The factor 55 has a pin that comes out so you just feed that through the loop in the synthetic line.
