2008 Jeep JK on 315/75r16 with 2.5" BB lift, Aussie locker rear D44, Spartan frontD30
Jeeps are made to be built right. Well after 9 years I finally got my Jeep to where I want it, Locked, re-geared and on 35s.
My Jeep is a 2008 Jeep JK X, 2 Door 6 speed manual transmission.
Here she is 2 hours after driving the Jeep off the lot back in 2008
The first upgrade was some new tires, 285/75r16 Definity Dakota MT from Pepboys and a smittybilt XRC bumper
Then after that, 2.5" RubiExpress BB lift, JKU springs, JKS discos, Bushwacker Flat Fenders and a smittybilt 8000lb winch was added along with 16" rims and 285/75r16 Definity Dakota tires from pepboys. Still on stock 3.21 gears. This is where my Jeep has been for quite a while. Very capable and have been a lot of places during this time and lots of broken parts. Had to change out PCM module, Blew stock radiator, changed to Mishimoto Alum radiator. That started leaking after 2 years and now back to a stock radiator, Replaced clock spring and a few broken front axels and clutch.
Met my wife during this build.
My wife (top left) mother in law (top right) and sister in law (on the bumper)
Here is a video of this build but with a Spartan Locker up front on the Dana 30
https://youtu.be/GIty9Deb79A Now my Jeep is at its current stage. Just upgraded last week with 115,000 miles, new clutch, 35" Nitto Terra Grappler tires, Re-geared to 4.56 and locked with a Spartan Locker up front on the Dana 30 and an Aussie locker on the rear Dana 44. After 9 years of gaining knowledge on offroading and my jeep, I would've first put the lockers in. These things perform so well offroad its ridiculous. Low and slow and no tire spin. Only been to our local trails but now I want to take her out on some tougher stuff and explore new places with my wife and dog. lol
For those wondering about 35" tires on a 2.5" Lift and flat fenders, No problem. Here is the clearance I have at full flex on the front and rear
Front
Rear
After just installing these upgrades, I had to go test it out. So I went out to our local spot, 15min away, and gave it a test run.
