255/75/17 on 17x9 who's running them?
I know this topic had been beat to death.
I know that technically 17x9s are 1/2 (i think anyway) too wide for 255/75s, I know that you're at risk of popping a bead while wheeling, and I know that without watching your psi you could have shorter treadlife.
That being said, I also know that many do this.
More and more of the wheels I'm liking are 17x9 and I won't be able to afford tires for awhile so am planning on keeping my 255s.
Are any of you running your stock rubi tires on 9" rims and what are your thoughts?
Besides the treadwear, without hard wheeling is there a problem with it?
Thanks

I ran stock Rubi tires on 17x9 Eagle Alloy Series 140s for 35k miles with no problem. They were on my '08 Sahara when I traded it off a couple months ago for '11 Sport.
I rotated at every oil change and treadwear was perfect. The tires still had half tread left. I don't know how that combo would stand up to hardcore wheeling but for everyday use and light wheeling I don't think you'd have any problem.
