AEV's heat reduction hood
#41
The AEV hood is a nice piece of engineering but IMHO it is also more added weight where it is not needed and it's pretty easy to cut holes in the stock hood if heat is a concern.
Nice looking black swb there brentf70, now you need to get some tube fenders for some extra clearance, they really aid in the stuffage department.

does it jitter at high speed like the stock hood?
and I have an open K&N air filter, would it give me trouble on the rainy days?

2) You shouldn't have any problem. If your K&N filter is located in the stock location, the vents on the side are behind the airbox, or in the case of my Airaid, behind it, so any water that comes in does not go near the CAI.
3) Good call on upgrading Amanda. That "applique" looks worse in person than it did in the bestop brochure (and it didn't look all that great there).
